# Before the marker

Placement is the whole point of this fixture: the index must appear where the
marker is written, between this section's content and the next section, and
nowhere else. Two terms are marked here, [alpha]{.index} and
[beta]{.index entry="Beta!Nested"}.

# After the marker

Content that follows the marker, so the index has something to sit in front
of as well as behind. One more term is marked here, [gamma]{.index}, and one
term is marked a second time, [alpha]{.index}, so an entry with two locators
crosses the marker's position.
